i'll be in Tucson for the reading on friday and wonder if you might want to grab some beers after. I'm sure you have a crash pad lined up already, but if not, let me know. A little background so you don't think i'm crazy--well, maybe I am, but not in a dangerous way, maybe pseudo-dangerous--my writing centers on Viet Nam and my father's combat tour and the dioxin legacy there and here. A piece on Agent Orange that appeared in Orion Magazine just won the Pushcart for Nonfiction. You can find it online pretty easily. I don't write this to sound like a douchebag braggadocio asshole, only to let you know I'm legit. i spent most of a summer in Viet Nam doing research for this book I'm writing and would love to get a chance to rap with you about the street kid program you're working on and all sorts of other stuff. Anyway, the weather here is real nice right about now, as i'm sure you'll see. Costume party galore on Friday night as well. Hope to drag you along and show you how we do it down here in the desert. Either way, welcome to the old pueblo.
