When I lived in Vietnam for 2 1/2 years from 1999 to 2001, I talked to no classes, and no journals published my poetry. My poems are still unpublishable there. In the U.S., poets are invisible. In Vietnam, they are slightly more relevant, but also potentially more threatening.
