Don't drink and shoot. On second thought, do drink and shoot:

.

Young-prostitute--New-Orleans-2

From Steven Augustine:

Amazingly fruitful trip!

To Steven Augustine:

This photo was taken around 3AM, if not later. I had drank at three bars, one restaurant and a private home, so I was beyond fucked up by this point. I was so fucked up, in fact, I accidentally erased several hours of photos from a memory card and shot right over it. Shit happens is right.

I tailed this lady for several blocks and shot several dozen images of her. "You're taking pictures of me!"

Luckily, I didn't get a chance to meet her pimp.

Even without the lost photos, I have many more coming of New Orleans, as well as Detroit, Houston and Chicago, so it was a fruitful trip, though a bit rough. I stayed in hotel for six days, slept on bus or train for five.

On the Greyhound from Houston to New Orleans, I couldn't lean my seat back because the lady behind me was so large, or so she claimed. "I'm long, baby. Long!"

In Houston, this homeless Vietnam vet was having flashbacks.

"They're the fightingest motherfuckers I've ever seen. You should be proud!"

"It wasn't me, man," I told this dude.

"You should be proud of your ancestors. They were the fightingest motherfuckers!"

From Angela Genusa:

I am enjoying your NOLA photographs very much! You have already captured its great spirit with less than a dozen photos.

I just got back from the convenience store ... and who should I see pulling up in his Mercedes/BMW/whatever but my former family doctor (general practitioner) (I've since changed doctors.) As he got out of his car, he took off his white lab coat and stethoscope and put them in his car. I spoke to him on my way into the store.

I stole a glimpse to see what he was buying...

Lottery tickets for tonight's $171 million Powerball lottery.

Times, they are a tough.

To Angela Genusa:

That's very funny, your doctor story.

I knew I had a good set of NO photos, but I accidentally erased several hours of shots, maybe 8 decent images, if not more. I was out drinking and yakking for about 6 hours, and was still wandering the streets at 4AM. I lost photos because I was so drunk, but I also made interesting photos, some of the best of the entire batch, because I was out drinking!

From Angela Genusa:

OH no!!!! The pros and cons of drinking in NOLA while photographing... ha ha ha!!!

I am so glad you got to go there and see it!!!

To Angela Genusa:

I don't know how world art will recover from my lost photos? This is the greatest loss to human culture since those buddha sculptures were blown up by the Taliban. I think Obama should declare a national day of mourning, frankly.

CYNTHIA McKINNEY in Libya under NATO attack

5/26/11:

NATO: A Feast of Blood

While serving on the House International Relations Committee from 1993 to 2003, it became clear to me that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was an anachronism. Founded in 1945 at the end of World War II, NATO was founded by the United States in response to the Soviet Union's survival as a Communist state. NATO was the U.S. insurance policy that capitalist ownership and domination of European, Asian, and African economies would continue. This also would ensure the survival of the then-extant global apartheid.

NATO is a collective security pact wherein member states pledge that an attack upon one is an attack against all. Therefore, should the Soviet Union have attacked any European Member State, the United States military shield would be activated. The Soviet Response was the Warsaw Pact that maintained a "cordon sanitaire" around the Russian Heartland should NATO ever attack. Thus, the world was broken into blocs which gave rise to the "Cold War."

Avowed "Cold Warriors" of today still view the world in these terms and, unfortunately, cannot move past Communist China and an amputated Soviet Empire as enemy states of the U.S. whose moves any where on the planet are to be contested. The collapse of the Soviet Union provided an accelerated opportunity to exert U.S. hegemony in an area of previous Russian influence. Africa and the Eurasian landmass containing former Soviet satellite states and Afghanistan and Pakistan along with the many other "stans" of the region, have always factored prominently in the theories of "containment" or "rollback" guiding U.S. policy up to today.

With that as background, last night's NATO rocket attack on Tripoli is inexplicable. A civilian metropolitan area of around 2 million people, Tripoli sustained 22 to 25 bombings last night, rattling and breaking windows and glass and shaking the foundation of my hotel.

I left my room at the Rexis Al Nasr Hotel and walked outside the hotel and I could smell the exploded bombs. There were local people everywhere milling with foreign journalists from around the world. As we stood there more bombs struck around the city. The sky flashed red with explosions and more rockets from NATO jets cut through low cloud before exploding.

I could taste the thick dust stirred up by the exploded bombs. I immediately thought about the depleted uranium munitions reportedly being used here--along with white phosphorus. If depleted uranium weapons were being used what affect on the local civilians?

Women carrying young children ran out of the hotel. Others ran to wash the dust from their eyes. With sirens blaring, emergency vehicles made their way to the scene of the attack. Car alarms, set off by the repeated blasts, could be heard underneath the defiant chants of the people.

Sporadic gunfire broke out and it seemed everywhere around me. Euronews showed video of nurses and doctors chanting even at the hospitals as they treated those injured from NATO's latest installation of shock and awe. Suddenly, the streets around my hotel became full of chanting people, car horns blowing, I could not tell how many were walking, how many were driving. Inside the hotel, one Libyan woman carrying a baby came to me and asked me why are they doing this to us?

Whatever the military objectives of the attack (and I and many others question the military value of these attacks) the fact remains the air attack was launched a major city packed with hundreds of thousands of civilians.

I did wonder too if the any of the politicians who had authorized this air attack had themselves ever been on the receiving end of laser guided depleted uranium munitions. Had they ever seen the awful damage that these weapons do a city and its population? Perhaps if they actually been in the city of air attack and felt the concussion from these bombs and saw the mayhem caused they just might not be so inclined to authorize an attack on a civilian population.

I am confident that NATO would not have been so reckless with human life if they had called on to attack a major western city. Indeed, I am confident that would not be called upon ever to attack a western city. NATO only attacks (as does the US and its allies) the poor and underprivileged of the 3rd world.

Only the day before, at a women's event in Tripoli, one woman came up to me with tears in her eyes: her mother is in Benghazi and she can't get back to see if her mother is OK or not. People from the east and west of the country lived with each other, loved each other, intermarried, and now, because of NATO's "humanitarian intervention," artificial divisions are becoming hardened. NATO's recruitment of allies in eastern Libya smacks of the same strain of cold warriorism that sought to assassinate Fidel Castro and overthrow the Cuban Revolution with "homegrown" Cubans willing to commit acts of terror against their former home country. More recently, Democratic Republic of Congo has been amputated de facto after Laurent Kabila refused a request from the Clinton Administration to formally shave off the eastern part of his country. Laurent Kabila personally recounted the meeting at which this request and refusal were delivered. This plan to balkanize and amputate an African country (as has been done in Sudan) did not work because Kabila said "no" while Congolese around the world organized to protect the "territorial integrity" of their country.

I was horrified to learn that NATO allies (the Rebels) in Libya have reportedly lynched, butchered and then their darker-skinned compatriots after U.S. press reports labeled Black Libyans as "Black mercenaries." Now, tell me this, pray tell. How are you going to take Blacks out of Africa? Press reports have suggested that Americans were "surprised" to see dark-skinned people in Africa. Now, what does that tell us about them?

The sad fact, however, is that it is the Libyans themselves, who have been insulted, terrorized, lynched, and murdered as a result of the press reports that hyper-sensationalized this base ignorance. Who will be held accountable for the lives lost in the bloodletting frenzy unleashed as a result of these lies?

Which brings me back to the lady's question: why is this happening? Honestly, I could not give her the educated reasoned response that she was looking for. In my view the international public is struggling to answer "Why?".

What we do know, and what is quite clear, is this: what I experienced last night is no "humanitarian intervention."

Many suspect it is about all the oil under Libya. Call me skeptical but I have to wonder why the combined armed sea, land and air forces of NATO and the US costing billions of dollars are being arraigned against a relatively small North African country and we're expected to believe its in the defense of democracy.

What I have seen in long lines to get fuel is not "humanitarian intervention." Refusal to allow purchases of medicine for the hospitals is not "humanitarian intervention." What is most sad is that I cannot give a cogent explanation of why to people now terrified by NATO's bombs, but it is transparently clear now that NATO has exceeded its mandate, lied about its intentions, is guilty of extra-judicial killings--all in the name of "humanitarian intervention." Where is the Congress as the President exceeds his war-making authority? Where is the "Conscience of the Congress?"

For those of who disagree with Dick Cheney's warning to us to prepare for war for the next generation, please support any one who will stop this madness. Please organize and then vote for peace. People around the world need us to stand up and speak out for ourselves and them because Iran and Venezuela are also in the cross-hairs. Libyans don't need NATO helicopter gunships, smart bombs, cruise missiles, and depleted uranium to settle their differences. NATO's "humanitarian intervention" needs to be exposed for what it is with the bright, shining light of the truth.

As dusk descends on Tripoli, let me prepare myself with the local civilian population for some more NATO humanitarianism.

Stop bombing Africa and the poor of the world!

Post-Hotdog, Sober, Mr. Lee

As published at Fanzine, 5/11/11:

Between ages 20 and 30, many of us were artists, writers or musicians. We painted houses, tended bars, waited tables, but we also tried to get our poems published, painted or sculpted all night, or rehearsed with our bands, be they called Missing Foundation, Strapping Fieldhands or Baby Flamehead. With slim evidence, we believed we were special, and maybe we were, even if it has come to nothing.

I’m 47 now, and yesterday, I ran into Scott Lee, whom I hadn’t seen in more than a decade. He hasn’t changed much, just a tad pudgier at 43. Still the same black, thick rimmed glasses, the grinning, easygoing manner. “Hey, let’s go for a beer,” I suggested. We were standing just outside a Hard Rock Café. “Want to go in there?” Scott asked.

“Hell, no, let’s go to a real place.”

“We can go to the beer garden?”

“OK.”

The beer garden is located inside Reading Terminal, an indoor market with many eateries, mostly ethnic, and stalls selling specialty foods. You can have scrapple served by an Amish lady under a bonnet, try some obscure cheese, take home a hunk of swordfish. Though not really a beer garden, this bar is not a bad place to sit. A bit touristy. Yuengling, a not too special, local beer, is treated like a micro brew here, and charged accordingly. No background music, which is nice. This afternoon, a quiet television showed Phillies vs. Mets.

For about 15 years, Scott and I were regulars at Dirty Frank’s, a low-life, vaguely artistic bar, with junk paintings and photographs, earnest and inept, sometimes funky, on its wall. The juke box was pretty good, though. I remember hearing Patsy Cline, and Benny Goodman’s “Sing, Sing, Sing,” with Gene Krupa’s joyously manic drumming.

I’ve written about Frank’s before. In a poem, I mentioned Skinny Dave, the trust funded junkie. He’s gone now. Hey, the next one’s on me, Skinny! Seeing me scrawl on a scrap of paper once, Skinny blurted, “You’re lucky you can do that. I have nothing to do.” I’ve likened Sheila, the bartender, to Sheila-na-Gig, whom she’d never heard of, though it’s her namesake. “It’s an Irish goddess stretching out her enormous vulva, like this,” and I made a motion with my hands, like Superman ripping open his shirt.

Police hope to put a lid on Mad Hatter theft ring

Detroit Free Press, 5/5/11:

Authorities are looking for help to identify a group of middle-aged to elderly women wearing hats who are stealing women’s wallets or purses, then using credit cards and checks at area retailers for merchandise or at financial institutions for cash throughout the area.

Police would like to find out where a group of middle-aged and elderly women thieves dubbed the Mad Hatters are hanging those hats.

The women have been spotted in security video related to thefts of purses or wallets across Macomb, Wayne, Oakland and Livingston counties.

Sterling Heights police today released photos from the security cameras in the hopes that someone will help them identify the women, so they can question them in what appears to be a year-long crime spree, said Lt. Luke Riley.

“They’re not your typical suspect for things like this. They’re generally not your typical suspect for any type of crime,” Riley said.

The thefts have usually occurred when a purse or wallet is left unguarded in a shopping cart or stroller. When the owner is distracted, they grab it and quickly use the credit cards before the theft is reported. They’ve also cashed checks at several financial institutions, Riley said.

One bank has been victimized for between $200,000 and $500,000.

Now, authorities are looking for help to identify the women, who are wearing blue, black or white hats and in a few cases are smiling, according to surveillance photos. Police said it’s difficult to tie all the incidents together with the multiple jurisdictions and victims, but it is believed the incidents began about a year ago with the most recent one last week.

The photos show that the person responsible for the theft is not always the one who uses the stolen items to commit the fraud, police said.

The fact that the suspects are older women could be an advantage in a crime spree, Riley said. Banks and stores “may be a little more inclined to give them a little more leeway.”

Cars and the Power of Advertising

Bianca Mugyenyi and Yves Engler in Dissident Voice, May 11th, 2011:

Recently the McGill Daily and Concordia University’s The Link covered their back page with end of semester advertisements for the 2011 Kia Soul. Above a picture of the small SUV reads: “Like it and Win. Grad [Facebook] Contest.”

These two nonprofit, Left student papers are not alone in promoting this unhealthy, lethal, inefficient, and utterly unsustainable mode of transportation. Across the globe newspapers of all types are filled with odes to the private car. For every new vehicle sold today $630 is spent on advertising. In newspapers and magazines, on TV and radio, car ads are overwhelming. Moving beyond traditional car-drenched media the Wall Street Journal noted that, “car companies have been among the most aggressive marketers in trying out new advertising tactics.” Whether you’re at a party, online, at the mall, playing video games, at the movies or even writing checks, there is an endless promotion of both brand names and automobility. Car advertisers have conquered nearly every sphere of human consciousness.

How Bush Was Offered Bin Laden and Blew It

Susan Lindauer's claims bring to mind the story of another go-between, Kabir Mohabbat. ALEXANDER COCKBURN and JEFFREY ST. CLAIR in CounterPunch, 11/1/2004:

Give Him an "F" in the War on Terror

George Bush, the man whose prime campaign plank has been his ability to wage war on terror, could have had Osama bin Laden's head handed to him on a platter on his very first day in office, and the offer held good until February 2 of 2002. This is the charge leveled by an Afghan American who had been retained by the US government as an intermediary between the Taliban and both the Clinton and Bush administrations.

Kabir Mohabbat is a 48-year businessman in Houston, Texas. Born in Paktia province in southern Afghanistan, he's from the Jaji clan (from which also came Afghanistan's last king). Educated at St Louis University, he spent much of the 1980s supervising foreign relations for the Afghan mujahiddeen, where he developed extensive contacts with the US foreign policy establishment, also with senior members of the Taliban.

After the eviction of the Soviets, Mohabbat returned to the United States to develop an export business with Afghanistan and became a US citizen. Figuring in his extensive dealings with the Taliban in the late 1990s was much investment of time and effort for a contract to develop the proposed oil pipeline through northern Afghanistan.

In a lengthy interview and in a memorandum Kabir Mohabbat has given us a detailed account and documentation to buttress his charge that the Bush administration could have had Osama bin Laden and his senior staff either delivered to the US or to allies as prisoners, or killed at their Afghan base. As a search of the data base shows, portions of Mohabbat's role have been the subject of a number of news reports, including a CBS news story by Alan Pizzey aired September 25, 2001. This is the first he has made public the full story.

By the end of 1999 US sanctions and near-world-wide political ostracism were costing the Taliban dearly and they had come to see Osama bin Laden and his training camps as, in Mohabbat's words, "just a damn liability". Mohabbat says the Taliban leadership had also been informed in the clearest possible terms by a US diplomat that if any US citizen was harmed as a consequence of an Al Qaeda action, the US would hold the Taliban responsible and target Mullah Omar and the Taliban leaders.

In the summer of 2000, on one of his regular trips to Afghanistan, Mohabbat had a summit session with the Taliban high command in Kandahar. They asked him to arrange a meeting with appropriate officials in the European Union, to broker a way in which they could hand over Osama bin Laden . Mohabbat recommended they send bin Laden to the World Criminal Court in the Hague.

Shortly thereafter, in August of 2000, Mohabbat set up a meeting at the Sheraton hotel in Frankfurt between a delegation from the Taliban and Reiner Weiland of the EU. The Taliban envoys repeated the offer to deport bin Laden. Weiland told them he would take the proposal to Elmar Brok, foreign relations director for the European Union. According to Mohabbat, Brok then informed the US Ambassador to Germany of the offer.

At this point the US State Department called Mohabbat and said the government wanted to retain his services, even before his official period on the payroll, which lasted from November of 2000 to late September, 2001, by which time he tells us he had been paid $115,000.

On the morning of October 12, 2000, Mohabbat was in Washington DC, preparing for an 11am meeting at the State Department , when he got a call from State, telling him to turn on the tv and then come right over. The USS Cole had just been bombed. Mohabbat had a session with the head of State's South East Asia desk and with officials from the NSC. They told him the US was going to "bomb the hell out of Afghanistan". "Give me three weeks," Mohabbat answered, "and I will deliver Osama to your doorstep." They gave him a month.

Mohabbat went to Kandahar and communicated the news of imminent bombing to the Taliban. They asked him to set up a meeting with US officials to arrange the circumstances of their handover of Osama. On November 2, 2000, less than a week before the US election, Mohabbat arranged a face-to-face meeting, in that same Sheraton hotel in Frankfurt, between Taliban leaders and a US government team.

After a rocky start on the first day of the Frankfurt session, Mohabbat says the Taliban realized the gravity of US threats and outlined various ways bin Laden could be dealt with. He could be turned over to the EU, killed by the Taliban, or made available as a target for Cruise missiles. In the end, Mohabbat says, the Taliban promised the "unconditional surrender of bin Laden" . "We all agreed," Mohabbat tells CounterPunch, "the best way was to gather Osama and all his lieutenants in one location and the US would send one or two Cruise missiles."

Bin Laden’s Death Won’t End the War on Terror Until Americans Understand the Threat Was Always Us

Susan Lindauer in Veterans Today, May 10, 2011:

Some of our leaders think Americans don’t need the truth about 9/11 any more, because Osama’s dead and it’s over.

As somebody who got brutalized at “ground zero” of the 9/11 cover up for most of the past 10 years, I could not disagree more. I’m sick of asking for a proper Congressional investigation. Congress already knows the truth about 9/11. That’s why they’re not poking around. However, it’s a huge mistake for the rest of us who know the truth, or parts of it, to wait for permission to speak. America has trapped itself in a mythic nightmare about terrorism that exaggerates our enemies, while our leaders manipulate our sense of patriotism and effectively blind us to mistakes in national security policy. It’s not a successful policy if it weakens our country.

The United States has reached a tipping point when we have to consider the end of the “American Age.” In which case, an honest examination of 9/11 becomes imperative. Americans must understand 9/11, so that we can puncture the creepy bubble around the War on Terrorism, and sweep away the phony threat that’s got all of Washington plotting Wars in the Middle East, bankrupting our economy with runaway defense spending, and tearing down civil rights in the name of national security.

The lie itself is formidable. Valerie Plame, a lady I greatly admire, recently tried to assure Americans that the U.S. government could never keep such a huge and devastating secret for so long. Wanna bet? Myself, I got rewarded with 5 years of indictment as an “Iraqi Agent,” including one year in prison on Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas—without a trial or hearing—after I requested to testify about Iraq and 9/11.

Thirty days after I spoke with top staffers for Senator Trent Lott and Senator John McCain, the FBI showed up with a warrant for my arrest.

My 5 year indictment on the Patriot Act nicknamed me “Symbol Susan.” It was not subtle. The viciousness I suffered was purposefully designed to scare off on anybody else who might consider talking. The cover ups of 9/11 and Iraq distinguished the Patriot Act as the premiere weapon to take down whistle blowers.

To those others I say, they cannot silence us if we refuse to give up our voice. I challenge Congress to put our country on the right track by holdings hearings on 9/11 to take our testimony. I will gladly swear to all of the following under oath:

THE TRUTH: A SUMMER OF ADVANCE WARNINGS

The truth is that our team, which triangulated the CIA and Defense Intelligence Agency, discussed the 9/11 attack in its exact scenario and time frame throughout the summer of 2001. We talked about it practically every week at our meetings. We also discussed it on the telephone, pointedly joking “Hello NSA! Pick up the phone—” knowing the National Security Agency had wire tapped my lines.

There’s no question that the story of the 9/11 conspiracy was planted months in advance to prep the intelligence community for the government’s reaction. And it unfolded exactly as they told us it would—with a little help from an orphan explosives team. That will be explained in a second article. The two are not contradictory.

Before we get to that, Americans must first accept the motivation for 9/11, and why the U.S. government allowed it to happen. This was a Pearl Harbor Day. And it achieved an agenda, which was already well defined.

From the first moment that I was told about 9/11 in April and May of 2001, I was informed that the United States planned to declare War on Iraq immediately when 9/11 happened. The two were already linked as cause and effect.

Threats of War Against Iraq

I can testify to that absolutely, because I was the Asset commanded to deliver those threats to Iraqi diplomats at the United Nations. I was instructed to say the “U.S. intended to declare War on Iraq if Baghdad failed to provide actionable intelligence to stop the conspiracy involving airplane hijackings and a strike on the World Trade Center. We would bomb Iraq more aggressively than ever before—back to the Stone Age.”

My CIA handler further demanded that I stress the threat of War “originated at the highest levels of government—above the CIA Director and the Secretary of State.” He considered the warnings to have more potency if Iraqi diplomats understood the muscle of those issuing the threats.

As the primary back channel to Baghdad from 1996 through 2003, I delivered that message with all precision from April and May right through August 4, 2001. I can pinpoint the day, because the conversation with my CIA handler took place on the day of the Senate confirmation hearings for Robert Mueller’s appointment to head the FBI.

My CIA handler, Dr. Richard Fuisz speculated aloud that the 9/11 attack might occur before Mueller was formally instated as FBI Director.

In the same conversation, Dr. Fuisz warned that I must not go back to New York, because the attack was “imminent” and the CIA expected “mass casualties” and a “possible miniature thermo nuclear device.” Over his objections, I insisted on returning to Iraq’s Embassy at the U.N. one last time to see if diplomats had received any reports from Baghdad. Then I promised I would not go back to New York until after the attack.

My meeting with Iraqi diplomats occurred two days later on Saturday, August 4. I did not return to New York until September 18.

Let me be clear: The threat was not vague or undefined. We fully expected airplane hijackings and some sort of aerial strike targeting the World Trade Center, specifically. No other target or location was ever discussed.

Details of the 9/11 conspiracy and the full history of Iraqi Pre-War Intelligence are disclosed in my book, “Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriot Act and the Cover Ups of 9/11 and Iraq.” It’s a real life spy thriller, and it goes into much greater depth, whereas this article can only scratch the surface.

“Extreme Prejudice” reveals a truth that’s very different from what America has been told. I challenge Congress to put me under oath and rip me with questions. Americans have the right to hear my direct testimony, which would disclose a complete chronology of our advance discussions about the conspiracy, in addition to our considerable efforts to stop the attack.

It’s nothing like what you expect. As a life-long anti-war activist, I was highly agitated about the threats of war that I was commanded to deliver to Iraqi diplomats. And I’m not a passive individual. Adding to the tension, by the summer of 2001 the international community had developed a deep loathing for U.N. sanctions that were destroying Iraq’s social fabric and community infrastructure. The days of U.N. sanctions on Iraq—which I reviled, too—were closing fast. The international community would have condemned any rogue military action against Iraq.

The CIA was way ahead of the curve on Iraq. Unbeknownst to the public, from the opening days of the Bush administration in January 2001, our team had begun hammering out a comprehensive framework for achieving all U.S. objectives, including weapons inspections, so that the U.S could claim a major victory while ceding to pressure for the U.N. sanctions to end. Anti-terrorism was a central part of our peace framework. In fact, Iraq had agreed to invite an FBI Task Force to conduct terrorism investigations by February, 2001. The CIA had also won Iraq’s consent for major reconstruction contracts for U.S. corporations in telecommunications, hospitals and health care, transportation— and oil. Everything the U.S. wanted was ours for the taking. And the CIA wanted it all.

Our Team Efforts to Stop 9/11

When my CIA handler, Dr. Fuisz informed me on August 2 that the 9/11 attack was in play and considered “imminent,” he and I together resolved to take more aggressive action to prevent it.

I’m not telling you what somebody else did that I heard about later. I’m telling what actions I took myself in “real time” to try to stop the 9/11 attack.

On Monday, August 6, I reported to Dr. Fuisz after my trip to New York. I told him that Iraqi diplomats had thrown up their hands. They had nothing to give us. Yes, they assured me, Baghdad was fully aware that Iraq faced a threat of full scale war, if a 9/11 style of attack occurred. They understood that it would be in their greatest interest to provide us with any fragment of intelligence to help stop the attack. They understood that 9/11 would complicate our peace framework exactly at the moment when the international community was ready to throw off U.N. sanctions. Bottom line, they had nothing to give us.

I was an unusual party to this discussion, motivated by deep antipathy for sanctions, violence through terrorism and war. For those reasons, I informed Dr. Fuisz that I felt super motivated to do everything in my power to stop 9/11, both to protect the people of New York City and to prevent an unnecessary War—exactly at the moment when our team was completing this outstanding peace framework that achieved all U.S. objectives.

At the instructions of Dr. Fuisz on August 6, I personally placed phone calls to U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft’s private staff at the Justice Department on August 7 or 8. Identifying myself as the CIA Asset covering the Iraq and Libya Embassies at the United Nations, I personally requested that Ashcroft’s Office post “an emergency broadcast alert across all agencies, seeking any fragment of intelligence on airplane hijackings, with a known target of the World Trade Center.” I described the attack as “imminent,” with the potential for “mass casualties. I asked for maximum inter-agency cooperation and urged that any information be forwarded to the CIA immediately.

Hearing my request, staff in the inner sanctum of Attorney General John Ashcroft’s office gave me a phone number at the Office of Counter-Terrorism in the Justice Department, and urged me to repeat exactly what I had just told them. I did so without delay. I dialed the number. I spoke to the staff.

I wasn’t taking any chances. A few days later, I visited the home of my cousin, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card. I waited in my car while his neighbors peeked out their windows, determined to warn him about our 9/11 scenario, and request cabinet level support to pre-empt the attack. Alas, Andy did not come home. When I drove away after two hours, I did so believing that I might be making the greatest mistake of my life.

There was still plenty of time for action to pre-empt the attack. Americans have a right to know how top leaders in government handled our warnings, and effectively thwarted those best efforts in August of 2001.

There was a lot of action that August—including a second set of events that I would learn about years later, involving an unidentified orphan team that would lay explosives in the Twin Towers. My next article will explain how those two conspiracies converged. Contrary to what the 9/11 Truth Community supposes, these two operations do not cancel out each other.

But first Americans must understand that 9/11 was a “stand down” operation, a true Pearl Harbor Day, meaning that U.S. and foreign intelligence understood what was coming. The leadership at the top of the U.S. government made an active decision to let the attack go ahead— because the decision was already made that 9/11 would provide a pretext for War in Iraq. With peace breaking out in the Middle East at that very moment, the War Party required a massive scale threat to overturn the peace process. Clearly they decided that nothing would be allowed to interfere with that objective.

Once that factor’s understood, 9/11 becomes comprehensible.

Some of my testimony would surprise America—like efforts by Saddam Hussein’s government to guarantee Iraq’s complete cooperation with global anti-terrorism efforts before and after 9/11. That will be addressed in another article.

Finally, my book, EXTREME PREJUDICE provides a full scope of the brutality by the Justice Department to silence me and other Assets, using the Patriot Act as a weapon to guarantee the success of its deception. (A hint: Assets watched the cover ups of 9/11 and Iraq on prison television. And I wasn’t the only prisoner).

Oh it wasn’t all bad! My CIA handler got $13 million tax-free from emergency appropriations for the 9/11 investigation in November, 2001— He built himself a grand mansion a stone’s throw from CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Not a dollar or a dime got spent on 9/11. Mind you, the government’s not complaining. But shifting tax dollars away from Iraq’s cooperation with the 9/11 investigation took food off my table. I paid a terrible price for it. More later in this series.

Democracy Requires Accountability

All parts of the 9/11 warnings, the cover up— the arrests and pay offs— should disturb Democrats and Republicans alike who brag about their leadership support for Assets engaged in anti-terrorism. It makes a lie of their pledge of loyalty, for sure. And it denigrates their performance as stewards of national security, which ought to be a litmus test for the 2012 Campaigns. Those who don’t care for the people’s business don’t belong in government.

Simply put, democracy requires accountability to the people. Americans have a fundamental right to possess the truth about 9/11 and the decision to declare War on Iraq months before the attack—because national security does matter in this age. Americans require that knowledge, so as to assess the leadership performance and quality of policy making on our behalf.

Good leaders don’t have to be afraid. Bad leaders should be sent packing for the betterment of government.

Most alarmingly, 9/11′s legacy has proved detrimental to the security of our country. According to the National Journal, fighting this phantom demon of terrorism today involves 1,271 government agencies, producing 50,000 intelligence reports a year that for the most part nobody reads. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_exclusive/20110506/pl_yblog_exclusive/the-cost-of-bin-laden-3-trillion-over-15-years Meanwhile, “black budgets” for intelligence operations have mushroomed to $75 billion a year, financing both domestic and international surveillance that monitors law-abiding citizens across the country. There’s no federal auditing authority or Congressional oversight over “black budgets.” It’s all tax free and unregulated. It’s a secret government gone wild.

Osama’s death has been a great victory for the CIA. But it will not bring U.S. soldiers home from Iraq and Afghanistan, where military operations have cost $1.6 trillion and counting. It won’t end the nonsense War against Libya, which has no justification at all.

Osama’s death will not quash the planning stages for future wars against Syria, and God help us, Iran.

Is it really patriotic to stay silent while the military industrial complex devours our economy for its own profits? Without producing benefits for U.S. soldiers? Admiral Mullen, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff doesn’t think so. He has described America’s national debt as “the greatest threat to our national security.”

Our country is teetering on the abyss. If we’re going to succeed in restoring the great traditions of liberty and moral authority, we’ve got to relearn the history of 9/11.

We must acknowledge the real threats to our quality of life are not “out there.” They start right here. And those threats are perpetuated by the myths that are leaders invented that tragic morning.

There is no better time for truth than today. The success of our national security policy—and our ability to avoid future wars that are guaranteed to destroy this earth—very well depend on it.

Americans Are Living In 1984

Paul Craig Roberts in Lew Rockwell, 5/10/11:

The White House's 'death of bin Laden' story has come apart at the seams. Will it make any difference that before 48 hours had passed the story had changed so much that it no longer bore any resemblance to President Obama's Sunday evening broadcast and has lost all credibility?

So far it has made no difference to the once-fabled news organization, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), which on March 9, eight days later, is still repeating the propaganda that the SEALs killed bin Laden in his Pakistani compound, where bin Laden lived next door to the Pakistani Military Academy surrounded by the Pakistani army.

Not even the president of Pakistan finds the story implausible. The BBC reports that the president is launching a full-scale investigation of how bin Laden managed to live for years in an army garrison town without being noticed.

For most Americans the story began and ended with four words: 'we got bin Laden.' The celebrations, the sweet taste of revenge, of triumph and victory over 'the most dangerous man on the planet' are akin to the thrill experienced by sports fans when their football team defeats the unspeakable rival or their baseball team wins the World Series. No fan wants to hear the next day that it is not so, that it is all a mistake. If these Americans years from now come across a story that the killing of bin Laden was an orchestrated news event to boost other agendas, they will dismiss the report as the ravings of a pinko-liberal-commie.

Everyone knows we killed bin Laden. How could it be otherwise? We – the indispensable people, the virtuous nation, the world's only superpower, the white hats – were destined to prevail. No other outcome was possible.

No one will notice that those who fabricated the story forgot to show the kidney dialysis machine that, somehow, kept bin Laden alive for a decade. No doctors were on the premises.

No one will remember that Fox News reported in December, 2001, that Osama bin Laden had passed away from his illnesses.

If bin Laden beat all odds and managed to live another decade to await, unarmed and undefended, the arrival of the Navy SEALS last week, how it is possible that the 'terror mastermind,' who defeated not merely the CIA and FBI, but all 16 US intelligence agencies along with those of America's European allies and Israel, the National Security Council, the Pentagon, NORAD, Air Traffic Control, airport security four times on the same morning, etc. etc., never enjoyed another success, not even a little, very minor one? What was the 'terror mastermind' doing for a decade after 9/11?

The 'death of bin Laden' serves too many agendas that cover the political spectrum for the obvious falsity of the story to be recognized by very many. Patriots are euphoric that America won over bin Laden. Progressives have seized on the story to excoriate the United States for extra-judicial murder that brutalizes us all. Some on the left-wing bought into the 9/11 story because of the emotional satisfaction they received from oppressed Arabs striking back at their imperialist oppressors. These left-wingers are delighted that it took the incompetent Americans an entire decade to find bin Laden, who was hiding in plain view. The American incompetence in finding bin Laden simply, in their minds, proves the incompetence of the US government, which failed to protect Americans against the 9/11 attack.

Those who ordered, and those who wrote, totally incompetent legal memos that torture was permissible under US and international law, thereby setting up George W. Bush and Dick Cheney for the possibility of prosecution, are riding the euphoria of bin Laden's death by declaring that it was torture that led the American assassins to bin Laden. All of a sudden, torture, which had fallen back into the disrepute in which it had been for centuries, is again in the clear. Anything that leads to the elimination of bin Laden is a valid instrument.

Those, who want to increase the pressure on Pakistan to shut up about Americans murdering Pakistani citizens in Pakistan from the air and from troops on the ground, have gained a new club with which to beat the Pakistani government into submission: 'you hid bin Laden from us.'

Those who want to continue to fatten the profits of the military/security complex and the powers of Homeland Security, such as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, use bin Laden's second, or ninth, death as proof that America is being successful in its war on terror and that the war must continue on such a successful path until all enemies are slain.

Most ominous of all was the statement by the CIA director that bin Laden's death would lead to new attacks on America and new 9/11s from al Qaeda seeking revenge. This warning, issued within a few hours of President Obama's Sunday evening address, telegraphed the inevitable 'al Qaeda' Internet posting that America would suffer new 9/11s for killing their leader.

If the Taliban knew in December 2001 that bin Laden was dead, does anyone think that al Qaeda didn't know it? Indeed, no member of the public has any way of knowing if al Qaeda is anything more than a bogyman organization created by the CIA which issues 'al Qaeda' announcements. The evidence that al Qaeda's announcements are issued by the CIA is very strong. The various videos of bin Laden for the last nine years have been shown by experts to be fakes. Why would bin Laden issue a fake video? Why did bin Laden cease issuing videos and only issue audios? A person running a world-wide terrorist organization should be able to produce videos. He would also be surrounded by better protectors than a couple of women. Where was al Qaeda, which according to former Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld, consists of 'the most dangerous, best-trained, vicious killers on the face of the earth.' Had these most dangerous men alive abandoned their leader?

The CIA director's warning of future terrorist attacks, followed by a suspect 'al Qaeda' threat of the same, suggests that if the American public continues to lose its enthusiasm for the governments open-ended wars, which are conducted at the expense of the US budget deficit, the dollar's exchange value, inflation, Social Security, Medicare, income support programs, jobs, recovery, and so forth, 'al Qaeda' will again outwit all 16 US intelligence agencies, those of our allies, NORAD, airport security, Air Traffic Control, etc. etc., and inflict the world's only superpower with another humiliating defeat that will invigorate American support for 'the war on terror.'

I believe that 'al Qaeda' could blow up the White House or Congress or both and that the majority of Americans would fall for the story, just as the Germans, a better educated and more intelligent population, fell for the Reichstag Fire – as did a number of historians.

The reason I say this is that Americans have succumbed to propaganda that has conditioned them to believe that they are under attack by practically omnipotent adversaries. Proof of this is broadcast every day. For example, on March 9, I heard over National Public Radio in Atlanta that Emory University, a private university of some distinction, treated its 3,500 graduating class to a commencement address by Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security.

This is the agency that has goons feeling the genitals of young children and adults and which has announced that it intends to expand this practice from air travelers to shopping malls, bus and train stations. That a serious university invited such a low-lifer, who clearly has no respect for American civil liberty and is devoid of any sort of sense of what is appropriate, to address a graduating class of southern elite is a clear indication that the Ministry of Truth has prevailed. Americans are living in George Orwell's 1984.

For those who haven't read Orwell's classic prediction of our time, Big Brother, the government, could tell the 'citizens' any lie and it was accepted unquestioningly. As a perceptive reader pointed out to me, we Americans, with our 'free press,' are at this point today: 'What is really alarming is the increasingly arrogant sloppiness of these lies, as though the government has become so profoundly confident of its ability to deceive people that they make virtually no effort to even appear credible.'

A people as gullible as Americans have no future.

Philadelphia's poisoned water

Recently, I wrote about the earth's poisoned water. Today, I find out that Philadelphia, where I live, has the absolutely most toxic water in the entire country. The federal government has known about this since 2007, but never bothered to alert local authorities. This is truly appalling. From the Philadelphia Daily News, 5/9/11:

City water officials can't find source of iodine in water

PHILADELPHIA'S TAP water has been laced with fluctuating levels of radioactive iodine since at least 2007, but city officials say they only recently learned of the problem.

Iodine-131, which has no taste or smell, is a carcinogenic isotope, but federal environmental officials apparently weren't concerned enough to tell you that it's in your drinking water.

The Philadelphia Water Department, now participating in a multi-agency investigation, doesn't know how the iodine is getting into the water supply.

"There's something unusual here and we need to figure out what's going on," said Chris Crockett, the department's acting deputy commissioner of environmental services.

You may ask: Does this have anything to do with the radioactive emissions from the Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant in Japan?

The answer is no.

Although trace amounts of Iodine-131 have blown over to the United States from Japan, Philadelphia has a more serious - and mysterious - problem with an unidentified local source that predates Japan's March nuclear disaster.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency data show that the iodine in Philly's water has exceeded federal drinking-water limit at least nine times since 2007 at two of the city's three water-treatment plants.

And Philadelphia's water has the highest iodine level among dozens of water systems in the U.S. tested by the EPA since the Japanese disaster.

'That's insane'

Water Department officials tell the Daily News that they were not aware of the data until about the time that the Japanese crisis raised concerns about nuclear particles contaminating U.S. air and rainwater, an issue that turned out to be unrelated to the iodine in Philadelphia.

The Water Department is working with state and federal environmental officials to find the local source of Iodine-131, which can cause cancer in high or prolonged doses and is believed to be responsible for thousands of thyroid cancers following nuclear-bomb tests in the Nevada desert in the 1950s and '60s.

An exchange

with Steven Augustine:

Hi Steven,

[...]

You're lucky to have a life in Europe. I spent nearly three years in Europe, two in Italy and 9 months in England, and I found myself much saner and happier while there. I was in Europe on fellowships, however, so I never had to survive in Europe. I was in Berlin for a reading in 2005. My hosts treated me so well, 5 nights in hotel for my wife and I, everything first rate, but one waitress was extremely rude to me and my friends. She could tell that we were Vietnamese, that's why.

I'm getting ready to go to Detroit, New Orleans and Atlanta to photograph. I'm being paid to give a reading in NO, so I'm using the $ to run around a bit by train. I'm not easily intimidated, but when I was in Detroit last July, I did think, Fuck, what the hell am I doing walking for miles through this city?! I can't wait to see it again, though.

Till later.

Cheers!

Re: racism in Berlin: as a black fellow (clarification: my online avatar is a picture of my wife, age 5, wearing a painted mustache), I can say that one of the ongoing challenges over here is distinguishing between traditional native rudeness(because they can be fucking rude, mostly to each other) and clinical racism, and, if it's racism, to file that under one of two basic variations, which being A) Germans are intellectually superior to everyone, but the darker exotics are more in touch with nature, so it's quite healthy to fuck them and eat their food sometimes or B) "Go back home to where you have come from!"

I sometimes make little avant garde films (as part of my Bohemian duty) and a friend who I film is a Vietnamese journalist named K_ . Being a female "Asian", here (though born in Germany), she personifies "sex" to most German men and a subliminal threat to most German women, so the weird vibes I've seen her attract (which were usually, in my presence, kinda diffused by the weird vibes I attract) depend utterly on the gender of the clerk/waiter/doorman/bystander/Starbucks employee we've been dealing with at the time. Germans look at her and assume she's thinking mystical thoughts when, in fact, her thoughts are in German and categorically identical to their own... mostly.

When I first got here, back in 1990 (I'm 52, btw), what blew my mind was this: at about 11:30 pm on a Friday night, I was on a very dark side-street when two 40-something ladies in nice, middle-class apparel approached me and asked directions! Of me, a 6' tall black guy! My first impulse was to give them all the money in my pocket.

In the intervening 20 years, of course, America's Military-Industrial-Entertainment Complex has done its job of poisoning the Global Imagination with every kind of re-animated Antebellum Nigger-Trope (with modern subliminal AIDS taint tossed in), so, I would probably have a hard time duplicating the experience in 2011.

But I remember thinking, back then, that it was the first time in my c. 31 years that I'd been treated like an unmitigated member of the people club. And I had to go to the former heart of the Third Reich to feel that.

Hi Steven,

Very fascinating, your tales of Berlin. Many people don't understand how evil it is to almost never be treated like a normal person, at least not in public. As you well know, this kind of pressure can warp and destroy a person.

Speaking of belonging, I had a funny encounter in Italy. There were about eight people, all white but me, standing at a bus stop. This middle aged Italian guy walked up and asked each of us, "Italiano?" He wasn't sure if anyone there was Italian, you see, so he had to ask each in turn. I just thought it was hilarious when he even looked at me and said, with a straight face, "Italiano?"

A man that colorblind would be truly beautiful, but I think he was just insane. Anyway, here's a Munich sketch I wrote a while back:

During Christmas of 2002, I saw four Mongolian musicians on a Munich promenade. Dressed in blue robes and black hats, they played traditional string instruments, throat sang, drew a large, mesmerized crowd. Many people gave money, others bought CDs. Later, after gluhwein and bratwurst, my wife and I decided on a whim to enter a go-go bar on Schillerstrasse. We bought tickets, bumped through a turnstile to find ourselves in a red-lit room with a dozen morose individuals, not counting the bar maid. The only action was video, beamed from about ten monitors showing the same-old-same-old, but more freakishly and often up close. Everywhere, rods and orifices, now out in the open. There was a horse and his female trainer, menacing toys and shiny accessories. After ordering a Lowenbrau, I looked around and saw, to my surprise, three East Asians, a scrawny pimp type with an improvised panty hose on his head, a scalpel enhanced, buxom Thai and an all-natural, free ranging Filipina. The girls would take turns dancing in a mini-theater adjacent. No Teutonic entertainment that night. After a while, I noticed that many of these sorrowful, hard up guys were glancing at my wife with impatient hunger. Suddenly I realized they had assumed she was a new dancer, ready to perform next, and I was her boyfriend and pimp.

A German friend said, "Asian women are hot in Germany. The last thing a German man wants to see in a go-go bar is a German woman."

TEAM BIN LADEN: WAS RAYMOND DAVIS THE CIA’S “BIN LADEN HANDLER?”

Gordon Duff at Veterans Today, 5/9/11:

DID CIA KILLER “BRIBED” OUT OF PAKISTAN JAIL HEAD “TEAM BIN LADEN?”

DAVIS RELEASE “MATTER OF HIGHEST NATIONAL SECURITY”

WAS DAVIS THE CIA HANDLER OF "MYSTERY BIN LADEN" IN ABBOTABAD?

————————————-

“.. to blackmail Pakistan into appointing a new intelligence chief willing to ‘take orders’ from Washington.”

————————————–

Sources tell us that the “lifelines” that kept what has been identified as Osama bin Laden safe inside Pakistan were operated under the supervision of CIA operative Raymond Davis. There were two safehouses in Abbottabad, one for “bin Laden,” the other for the CIA. We are told that this explains why there was no Al Qaeda security detail. The CIA was in charge of that.

Davis, arrested in Lahore earlier in the year, faced trial for murder until released because of cash payments made to the families of the victims. Davis led a super-secret CIA team thought initially by Pakistan to be coordinating Taliban and Indian terror networks. It is now reported that he was the handler for “the man from Abbottabad,” the man America claims was Osama bin Laden.

Reports indicate that Osama bin Laden wasn’t captured for a good reason. The individual identified as Osama bin Laden was a replacement used in video and audio terror threats that have failed analysis and been debunked as counterfeit.

LOCALS CLAIM "BIN LADEN" IN PHOTO IS LANDLORD - LONG TIME NEIGHBOR

BBC VIDEO HERE

Documents identified by former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds and former Undersecretary of State Steve Pieczenik, a physician, clearly identify bin Laden as associated with the CIA long after he was identified as the leader of the shadowy Al Qaeda network. Pieczenik also confirms that bin Laden was fatally ill long ago. Multiple confirmations in Pakistan and the US have bin Laden dying in 2001, not long after he issued a categorical denial of complicity in 9/11.

IT’S BIN LADEN’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE WE REALLY NEED

LEFT, OUR IMAGINARY BIN LADEN, RIGHT, THE PROVEN BIN LADEN, THE "EARS HAVE IT"

Not long after bin Laden’s reported death, several “clones” appeared including one matching the appearance of the “bin Laden” who appears in videos captured in Abbottabad. It is not certain whether this “bin Laden” or a subsequent clone was the individual who may have been killed in the recent US operation.

SOFT TARGET FOR SEAL TEAM?

One thing for sure, it was not the long dead CIA financier, Osama bin Laden.

Sources report that the recent “bin Laden” operation was in retaliation for Pakistan’s arrest of bin Laden handler, Raymond Davis. Other reasons with limited or unreliable confirmations claim the US wishes to blackmail Pakistan into appointing a new intelligence chief willing to “take orders” from Washington.

Reliable reports from within the US intelligence community state that a major factor in the timing of the recent operation was tied to the “musical chairs” in Washington with Leon Panetta leaving the CIA to take over as Secretary of Defense upon the retirement of Robert Gates and the General Petraeus’ move to take over the CIA.

The killing of “bin Laden,” real or a “clone” under Panetta’s watch would prevent General Petraeus from becoming “unmanageable” were he able to make the same claim. Petraeus is cited for having presidential aspirations and the CIA directorship has been a stepping stone to the White House before as seen with George H.W. Bush.

OPERATIONAL INCONSISTENCIES

The Navy Seal operation attributed to the assassination of Osama bin Laden as reported to the world is a hollow fiction. We are not here to discuss the legal merits, the questions of who or why but rather how.

There were two main areas of concern with the initial cover story of the killing of Osama bin Laden. The first, of course, were the contradictions, guns, then no guns, shooting then no shooting and the lack of evidence of this being an assault on a “high value” terrorist target. DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) assaults on “wrong houses,” something too common in the United States, assaults that often accidentally target innocent senior citizens or homes with small children, leave more convincing evidence than the attack on what Colin Powell has called “the worst person on earth.

The second issue is the confirmations received of what was reported all along. Osama bin Laden had been dead for a decade. Confirmations received from the highest sources in the US intelligence community confirm that Osama bin Laden’s body was recovered by Special Forces operating in Afghanistan in December 2001. His body was frozen and kept in storage for a date when it would be of advantage to the United States to use it for maximum advantage.

Another reason for the decision to “thaw and assassinate” was to deliver a knockout punch to Republican presidential contenders, in particular Donald Trump, already reeling from the “birth certificate” fiasco.

As this information directly contradicts all of the varied stories released by the White House thus far, one could safely assume that no information offered, not that through official channels, a mishmash of contradiction and absurdity nor that offered here, reeking of conspiracy and sinister intent, can safely be relied upon.

In fact, there is no competent analysis of any kind in the mainstream press and, though much of the work in the alternative media may ring of truth or seem more logical, it also has an aspect of conjecture to it with some exceptions. There is a wealth of authoritative opinion regarding the death of bin Laden in 2001, two Pakistani prime ministers, Bhutto and Musharraf, their top intelligence officer at the time, General Hamid Gul, currently editor at Veterans Today, and a wealth of senior US officials. These issues may be followed in the media and a reader may choose which “reality” to accept. There is no sadder state of affairs than for such uncertainty to exist involving key areas of national security.

REAL OPERATIONS IN A REAL WORLD

An operation as reported, one planned and executed by the Joint Special Operations Command, the organization tasked with carrying out extrajudicial executive actions such as this one makes use of all the resources the United States has at its disposal. We will discuss some of those resources and how they would have been tasked in an effort such as the one described.

Most intelligence operations begin with some sort of intercept, a phone call or computer email. There are more acronyms than you can shake a stick at tied to intelligence. Acronyms serve one purpose, to attempt to mislead and astound while either making excuses for failures or inventing nonexistent successes, all the while spending taxpayer funds like a drunken sailor in a cathouse. SIGINT or COMINT or COMPINT or ELINT or IMAGINT, it’s all baloney, smoke and mirrors.

Funniest of all is HUMINT. This means “human intelligence” or “some guy told me….”

The Abbottabad operation would have begun with an intercept of a recognized and attributed voice print, a form of biometics or an email that said a bit too much. It could have been HUMINT, someone saw something or, as is usually the case, saddly, it is more likely IMAGINARINT, or imaginary intelligence. This is information that people simply invent. Most intelligence is IMAGINARINT.

A ten year manhunt for a deadman who has been in a freezer in Bahrain, an arch-criminal used as a catchall boogeyman needs alot of IMAGINARINT and the JSOC, Dick Cheney’s “red-headed stepchild,” is the type of organization for just such an occasion. They are at their best when stopping imaginary attacks or tracking imaginary terror cells. In order to provide HUMINT to back up their IMAGINARINT, they kidnap and torture the odd cook or cab driver, sometimes for years on end, until they are able to force their victims to agree with anything they say.

Then the victim is put on trial, convicted and imprisoned for life as a reward.

Michael C. Ruppert on the Bin Laden farce

[...]

Let’s start with what I consider the most-obvious proof that the Obama administration is lying. It comes from a world-class microbiologist who allowed me to use this quote on condition of anonymity. The simple proof of his accuracy is to just ask any microbiologist experienced in DNA sequencing about his statement. There are tens of thousands of them around the world.

Here is what he wrote me:

I am a molecular biologist and I've built a lucrative career in human genetics. I have run one of the world's largest and most productive DNA genotyping facilities and now I am helping to build the global market for clinical whole human genome sequencing for the world's largest human genome sequencing facility. I have worked with the absolute best genome scientists from the military, academia, medicine, and industry from around the world. I know DNA. And, one thing I know about DNA is that you cannot, repeat CANNOT: take a tissue sample from a shot-in-the-noggin-dead-guy in a north central Pakistan special forces op, extract the DNA, prepare the DNA for assay, test the DNA, curate the raw DNA sequence data, assemble the reads or QC the genotype, compare the tested DNA to a reference, and make a positive identity determination…. all in 12 hours- let alone transport the tissue samples all the places they'd need to have gone in order to get this done.

Some might try to argue that ruggedized, field ready kits could test a DNA sample- which is true if one is attempting to determine the CLASS of a bacteria. It is not true if one is trying to determine the specific identity of an individual. Any way you slice it, the real work would require days, and I find it unlikely (although not impossible) that an aircraft carrier would have a laboratory outfitted for this kind of work… it is not the Starship Enterprise out there.

So, maybe they did get Osama. But there is no fucking way they had any genetic proof of it by the time they dumped the body over the side. What is it that we are not supposed to see with all this distraction? I think the French call it "legerdemain".

The only things necessary to prove or disprove this statement is to question anyone who is an expert on DNA identification.

The Guardian

was interested in my take on Bin Laden, but it wanted me to delete my questions about the missing corpse or Bin Laden's alleged involvement with 9/11. I refused. My exchange with the editor was very friendly and constructive, but we simply disagreed. I like the Guardian and wish it was in better shape financially and editorially. As I wrote to this editor:

I think the Guardian has lost much of its edge, frankly. What with Monbiot declaring nuclear energy safe during the greatest nuclear disaster ever, and now, it is refusing to ask the toughest, yet most obvious, questions about the alleged Bin Laden assassination. By edging towards the center, the Guardian will lose even more readers because there are bolder and more convincing alternative websites out there, with legitimate contributors and no conspiracy theorists. I'm afraid that by dancing around the official propaganda, the Guardian will sink into the ocean for real, and not only in rumors like that Osama corpse.

Murder without Corpse

As published in Common Dreams and Dissident Voice, 5/8/11:

In a photograph, Bush is shown in an Army jacket, his hands holding a tray with a picture-perfect turkey, garlanded by grapes. He is surrounded by American troops, most of whom are not looking at him. This is meant to convey that the photo was spontaneous, casual, and not posed. It is authentic.

In another photograph, Obama is shown in the Situation Room of the White House, surrounded by his top security advisors. They are watching something. Of the thirteen faces, none is looking at the camera. Again, this is to convey that the photo was natural and spontaneous. Obama is shown in a casual jacket, Biden in shirt sleeves, details that indicate they are at work, and not posing for a propaganda photo, god forbid. This image is so authentic, in fact, that it borders on the illicit. This was a secret session, after all. That’s why all of the laptop monitors have been blackened out, and the photo in front of Hillary Clinton has been blurred. We should be thankful, then, for this courtesy peep at a scene we shouldn’t even have access to. The spontaneity is also reinforced by an unfamiliar face at the back, peeking in. She is younger and shorter than the rest, truly a little person among heavyweights, nearly all of whom are men, by the way, yet only the most cynical would conclude that this small woman was added to double the female representation in the room. A really tall and large woman would not do. Like that worm in the British royal wedding photo, this tiny woman provides just enough intrigue without distracting.

As we all know, Bush served up a plastic turkey, so the turkey propaganda photo was itself a turkey, but a much bigger turkey is the Situation Room image. Releasing it, the White House explained that Obama and company were watching the raid and execution of Bin Laden in real time, with the snuff film made possible by a camera mounted on the helmet of a Navy Seal. Now, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that any head during a firefight is not likely to be stationary, not long enough, in any case, to broadcast steadily and clearly to the folks back home, not unless it wants to be a dead head, that is.

“Hey, Seal with the camera, run up that stairs and fix your gaze on Geronimo, will you? Remember to stand still and don’t duck, so our Commander in Chief will have a vivid stream of images, OK?”

Soon after, the White House explained that there was no live feed of the crucial moment, after all, that the camera actually didn’t work for 25 of the 38-minute raid, so there was absolutely no video footage of Bin Laden, but why this sudden reversal? Can’t these people work out their lies before they broadcast them to us?

The White House had to backtrack because it had painted itself into a corner. It had already refused to produce photos of a dead Bin Laden. He had been shot above the eye, it said, shattering his skull, so such a gory image would inflame Muslim sentiments. “We don’t want to spike the football,” Obama explained. But if we can’t see a dead Bin Laden, how about a photo of him alive? If a helmet mounted camera could deliver a live feed to the Situation Room, surely it can produce at least one image of Bin Laden with his head still intact, and in that house? But this, too, was out of the question, incredibly enough.

With webcams, surveillance cameras, Google street view and the ubiquitous camera phones, it seems that the entire world is always photographed, or ready to be photographed these days, that anyone at any moment can be captured by that voracious shutter, then uploaded onto a screen. There are cameras hidden inside pens, books, boom boxes, clocks, air purifiers and smoke detectors. You can probably google any name, a grade school chum, your first lover, long lost cat, dead grandma, bless her soul, and find photos of them online, uploaded by the Pentagon, or maybe God himself.

The public has also come to expect a photo, as evidence or trophy, after any political assassination or execution. Just think of the strung up Mussolini, bloody Ngo Dinh Diem inside an armored car, a shirtless Che Guevara or the bandaged head of Leon Trotsky.

We are drowning in photographs, most of which we can do without, yet the one image that everyone wants to see this week, of a Bin Laden dead or alive during the raid, is not available. Instead, we are treated to a wealth of irrelevant information. We are told that there was “a hero dog” involved; that Obama and company had turkey pita wraps, cold shrimp, potato chips and soda, bought from Costco, the cheapo outlet—how nice, this common man touch—in the Situation Room; that Obama has met to congratulate his commandos, all highly intelligent and responsible family men between the ages of 30 and 40. Whatever.

The Bin Laden photos would not matter if there was a corpse, but that too, has gone missing, so without a cadaver or even the flimsy evidence of a photoshopped photograph, what is there to this sensational murder, really? Nothing but words from the CIA and the White House. Though they lied to us about Jessica Lynch’s “rescue” and Pat Tillman’s murder, we are to believe them this time because they have suddenly decided to speak the truth. Honestly.

'I heard about your uncle': Texas teacher suspended for mocking Muslim girl over Bin Laden

Daily Mail, 5/5/11:

A math teacher in Texas has been suspended amid accusations he made a Muslim pupil cry by mocking her over Osama bin Laden's death.

In front of the entire class, he allegedly said, 'I bet you're grieving', and when she questioned what he meant, he said 'I heard about your uncle's death'.

The ninth-grade girl burst into tears, but according to a classmate's mother the teacher just smirked and walked away.

Neither the teacher nor the pupil at Clear Brook High School, Friendswood, have been named.

School authorities immediately placed the teacher on administrative leave and quickly moved to distance themselves from his comments with an official statement.

The incident is said to have happened in an algebra class on Monday, the day after President Obama announced the Al Qaeda leader had been killed, and involved an American-born girl who practises the Muslim faith.

Two Muslims bounced from Memphis flight, despite extra screening

Christian Science Monitor, 5/7/11:

Two Muslim men wearing traditional clothing were removed from a commercial flight departing Memphis on Friday. Airline apologizes, but gives no explanation for incident.

It’s not absolutely clear who was uneasy that two Muslims wearing traditional clothing had boarded Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 5452 to Charlotte, N.C., but it’s evident someone was.

The two men – one an adjunct professor of Arabic at the University of Memphis and the other an imam at the Islamic Association of Greater Memphis – were already in their seats Friday and the plane pulled away from the gate when they were asked to deplane, according to news reports.

Atlantic Southeast Airlines, a regional partner of Delta, said in a statement only that the flight "returned to the gate to allow for additional screening of a passenger and the passenger's companion. We take security and safety very seriously, and the event is currently under investigation." The carrier also apologized for any inconvenience to the travelers.

The men, who were on their way from Memphis to North Carolina for a conference of North American imams where Islamophobia and anti-Muslim bias were to be discussed, cooperated with authorities, were rescreened, and booked on a later flight.

One of the travelers, Prof. Masudur Rahman, said Delta officials reported that the pilot, not fellow passengers, was the one who was uncomfortable with his presence and that of his colleague, according to a Reuters report.

There was some speculation that the plane returned to the gate because the pilot had heard that some passengers were worried. However, the pilot is reported to have refused to allow the two Muslims to reboard the plane after additional screening and left without them.

Cindy Sheehan on the Bin Laden farce

.

[Dr. Drew is an insensitive, condescending idiot. In this interview, he kept trying to frame Sheehan's activism as some kind of self therapy. He didn't let her elaborate on the bigger issues, but kept pushing her back to very personal and painful subjects. There is sexism in this, clearly. Drew treated Sheehan strictly as a mother and a wife, not as someone with a large, public voice, someone who could challenge the criminals ruling over us.]

Osama Bin Laden in Death and in Life Continues to Serve his CIA Masters

Giles Dexter and Patrick Henningsen at Global Research, 5/6/11:

As Washington and the CIA scramble to shore-up their official narrative this week, it is reported that “Al-Qaeda” has confirmed the death of its leader Osama Bin Laden, according to a statement attributed to the group.

Following predictable intelligence agency protocol, this scripted statement was posted on a series of seemingly random “jihadist” internet forums.

This latest dubious Al Qaeda broadcast is timed to perfection and reads like a bookend to the White House’s grand proclamation earlier this week. The statement said that Osama bin Laden’s blood would not be “wasted” and that al-Qaeda would continue attacking the US and allies. In addition, the alleged Al Qaeda message goes on to say that Bin Laden’s death would be a “curse” for the US and urged an uprising in Pakistan.

As is the case with most western manufactured Al Qaeda messages, this one should also be read as a hint to a future move on the part of the Washington-London-Tel Aviv axis, one which may see Pakistan as a new potential NATO military conflict opponent.

Assumptions layered on top of lies, layered on assumptions. The fiction now surrounding the life and death of Osama Bin Laden has reached epidemic proportions, and now Washington is scrambling to hold its fragile story together. So it’s time to ask ourselves, what do we actually know about him, and what is pure fiction?

Firstly, what we know, undisputed and documented by public sources:

1) Osama bin Laden was a well known, well paid CIA intelligence asset used over a long period by more than one US administration to fight their proxy wars. Originally he was recruited during the end of the Carter administration to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan, he was subsequently used and armed to bolster the Muslim cause where it could be applied as a proxy force in civil wars, including Bosnia in the 1990′s.

BEDFELLOWS: Osama bin Laden and Zbigniew Brzezinski in Afghanistan.

2) On several occasions in the 1990′s (by which time his name was increasingly linked to, but never proven to be responsible for several terrorist attacks), there were opportunities to arrest him, and on each occasion intelligence services interceded on his behalf either directly, or as was the case during the Clinton administration, the case against him was dropped due to a lack of evidence.

3) Though he was claimed by Washington to have “gone rogue”, the rest of his family remain as one of the best established and most westernised of the super-elite Saudi families who have married into British high society. The bin Ladens are linked to the Bushes and have been majority share holders in world foremost transnational arms and development consortiums of the Carlyle Group, whose directors include former US President George Bush Sr and former British PM John Major.

4) There have been numerous reports of Osama bin Laden’s death, including announcements by Heads of State on several occasions. On December 26, 2001, Fox News reported on a Pakistan Observer story that the Afghan Taliban had officially pronounced Osama Bin Laden dead earlier that month. According to the report, he was buried less than 24 hours later in an unmarked grave in accordance with Wahabbist Sunni practices. On January 18, 2002, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf announced quite bluntly: “I think now, frankly, he is dead”. In October 2002, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told CNN that “I would come to believe that (Bin Laden) probably is dead”. A number of other official admissions can be found here. In total, this latest announcement by Obama would be the ninth time bin Laden has been pronounced dead.

5) Al Qaeda is not a genuine organisation, as it was invented by the FBI, CIA and promoted by western governments to sell their global war on terror.

Video: How enemies Bin Laden and Al Qaeda were invented by the West.

What we don’t know:

1) There is no evidence, other than anecdotal and innuendo, whatsoever linking him directly with 9/11.

2) No evidence exists that he has been alive since late 2001. Although a number of videos and audio message have been released by CIA and Pentagon-run media offices, namely Intel Center and SITE, all subsequently proven to be poorly crafted fakes, no real evidence has ever surfaced. The most infamous of these fake tapes was the one which appeared just before the 2004 election, one that both Bush and Kerry attributed to George W. Bush gaining re-election that year.

3) There is no evidence he was ever in the ‘compound’ building in Pakistan’s Abbottabad Valley on May 1, 2011. Certainly, there is no evidence, other than the official statement from Washington this week, that he was killed then and there.

A likely version of events

As a long time western intelligence asset, Osama agreed to be the fall guy for 9/11 in exchange for safe passage and the continued patronage of his family which include a number of multi-billion dollar contracts from major Anglo-American-Saudi contractors. In death, as in life, he continues to do the bidding for his intelligence Puppet Masters, who still continue to use the utterly meaningless, catch-all term “Al Qaeda” to justify imperialist, dictatory and globalist policies, and subsequently announcing their endless agenda of grotesque plans.

Critically acclaimed author and former US intelligence operative, Steve Pieczenik, outlines the complete analysis on the legend of Bin laden here.

Washington’s announcement this week that it will not be releasing bin Laden photos is simply down to the fact that there are no genuine photos of his alleged assassination by US forces. To make this tale even more incredible, President Obama claims that Osama’s body was dumped into the Arabian Sea ten hours after he will killed.

So what do we have? No body, no photos, no video… no evidence. But the official narrative moves forward like a Hollywood script, “a brave team of Navy SEALS carried out a daring operation to capture and kill the world’s number one terrorist”. And for the first night in ten years, Americans can go to bed feeling proud and safe.

Clearly, a fictional character like Osama bin Laden was worth more alive than he was dead, which explains the lengths which Washington was willing to go in order keep his presence in play. The decision by the White House to cash in their big chip this week is likely due to a need for domestic approval, re-spin unpopular foreign occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq, and to help sustain an expensive and ultimately useless hyper-security state.

Obama’s latest propaganda stunt is the equivalent of the Holy Grail in terms of 21st century Anglo-American politics. But as well packaged as his delivery of this event appeared on Sunday evening, the fairy tale of bin Laden appears to be unravelling faster than his inexperienced Democrat spin doctors can manage. Perhaps the best strategy for the Obama Administration would have been that of the Bush Administration- to leave the major fictional villain of our epoch, Osama bin Laden… safely buried in the closet. Wheeling him out now will mostly certainly start of chain of events that even the most skilled White House media minions will find difficult to patch up.

The official narrative is easy to believe if you choose to switch off your critical faculties, and allow the Washington spokespeople and media moguls to take over, directing you what to think and when to think it. Conversely, sifting between the truth and the lies… requires effort.
